With a mix humor and some serious looks on women, I found myself drawn to a piece by the female renaissance artist Lavinia Fontana. With her piece of a noble woman with a sadden look in her eyes because of late husband she loved dearly yet she managed to keep her estates under her name. I found that interesting considering the time that inspired this piece with more vigor and strength of a woman who would not bend the knee.
