This piece was for a Halloween Gallery show during college made by some of my fellow students. Since I grew up with Catholic religious art where it often twisted and surreal I chose to depict St. Lucia in more gruesome highlighting the actual torture she went through. She chose not to renounce the Christian God and would rather have her eyes plucked out. So it was done. Here she is just recently went through with the act by the prison guards and she is holding her eyes.
